Sundays
Most Sundays, there are two opportunities to join us for worship (at 10am and 5:00pm) which during the corona virus we have moved on line - we have a YouTube channel where you can all our live-stream services. We try to keep it as live as we can, so most weeks all our contributors are preaching, reading, praying live just as they would during a church service in the church building. Currently live-streaming is of 10am Sundays and mid-day prayers (but for the week after Easter - do enjoy all that Spring Harvest home has to offer).
Our Sunday at 5pm service is a collaboration between participants and is not recorded, but you are welcome to join us. To get the link go to the event on the church calendar.
On the last Sunday of the month, we normally have a 'Songs of Praise' service at 4pm but now we offer two phone lines : 01634 540650 and 01634 540655 with recorded talks and prayers. If you know someone without access to the internet then could you tell them about this, please? Also could you offer to call them during a live stream to help them to hear the audio stream of the service?
What follows on this page refers to how things used to be!
10:00am
Our morning service includes times of sung worship, a talk and the opportunity to respond in prayer ministry. We celebrate Holy Communion at this service on the second Sunday of each month. There are groups for children up to Year 9. Refreshments are available in the hall after the service.
5:00pm
Been out for the day? Been involved in sports on a Sunday morning or just wanted a lie-in? Then this is for you and everyone in your household. Bring everyone from home, and neighbours and friends for fun, interactive and thought provoking services. Come for tea and nibbles from 5pm then a time of worship, teaching and ministry.
What happens in church
We tend to start our services with an introduction from the service leader, we then sing a number of songs altogether. All the words you'll need to say or sing during the service will be displayed on the screens throughout the building, but no-one will mind if you don't want to join in, and you are welcome to sit down or stand up as you feel most comfortable.
We don't pass a collection plate around during the service, and we promise we don't make visitors stand up and introduce themselves!
At the morning service, the children go to their groups after a couple of worship songs, and the adults stay in church for the Bible reading, a talk and a time of prayer. Our services also have an opportunity for people to respond to what God might be saying to them and to pray with someone else. We end our services with notices and more singing.
Where to park
For our morning services, you are welcome to use the car park of Greenacre Academy (entrance off Walderslade Road). Otherwise please park on the local streets, but they are quite narrow and busy so please take care!
