introducing Rev ANdrew Vaughan

Andrew recently joined the team as our Associate Vicar. Here's an introduction:
Andrew Vaughan 2017
Hi my name is Andrew and I am first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ. I am married to Catherine and we have living with us two young boys Joseph and Logan, two cats, two snakes and a new puppy called Delta! For the past 9 ½ years I have been the Vicar of St Barnabas Church, Istead Rise. During this time, I have had the privilege of working with members of St Barnabas in developing a Vision for the Church, building a Leadership Team and I have overseen various new ways of connecting with the local community. During this time, I have built a strong relationship with the local primary school, community warden, local councillors and other community leaders. I particularly love to see followers of Jesus grow in their faith and grow in confidence in leadership, inside and outside the Church. Over the years I have tried to make the main morning service more informal and more open to the work of the Holy Spirit.
I have been going to New Wine since 1990. I am a member of the New Wine Network and I lead a Core Group in Dartford. In recent years I have become more influenced by Benedictine and Emotionally Healthy Spirituality.
Prior to Ordination Training at Ridley Hall, I had a 20-year career as a Contracts and Project Manager with a number of Building Contractors and a Housing Association.
Catherine is a fully qualified Music Teacher and has worked in a number of Secondary Schools and has been head of department. Currently, she teaches Piano at home and also teaches a number of instruments for the charity Music for Schools Foundation.
During time off I love to spend time with my family, listen to all forms of music, watch a good drama, listen to Desert Island Discs, take the odd photo and tinker with my Rover Cabriolet. Oh and also walking a dog!
God bless
